Announcements


Registration for September 2021 has begun  

  For information please call Ms. McGarry at 212-567-3190.

Students in the 3K classrooms of  Ms. Sanchez and Mr. Taraza's rooms will need to register for PreK For All (4 year old program).  Priority is given for those students who are registered at OLQM. Please speak to Ms. McGarry if you have questions. Parents may also ask Mr. Woods questions during drop off in the morning or at pickup in the afternoon.

Upload evidence of student work onto Seesaw as frequently as possible.

Activities for virtual students at home

Paper Plate Rainbow (Monday & Tuesday)

In the spring time we observe seasonal changes in weather. We experience more sunshine and rain and when the two come together rainbows form. 

 

 

Children will cut and crumble pieces of tissue paper and paste them onto a paper plate to craft a rainbow.

 

● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles.

Writing and Tracing Our Names (Wednesday)


Children will practice writing the letters of their name.

 

Materials:


Pencil/Marker/Crayon/Color Pencil

 

● Goal P-LIT 6. Child writes for a variety of purposes using increasingly sophisticated marks

 

● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles.


Egg Marble Painting (Thursday & Friday)

Egg Marble Painting

 

Children will decorate eggs for the upcoming season.

 

Materials:

 

Paper Egg Cut out

Marbles

Paint

Tray

Extra: Coloring Activity: Color / Decorate an egg of your choice.

Paper Plate Cars Craft (Monday & Tuesday)


Children will practice cutting skills using scissors and pasting pieces of tissue paper onto their paper plate cars.

 

Materials:

* School Glue
* Craft Scissors
* Hand-Held Office Stapler

 

● Goal P-ATL 8. Child holds information in mind and manipulates it to perform tasks.

 

● Goal P-PMP 1. Child demonstrates control, strength, and coordination of large muscles.


Transportation Shape College (Wednesday & Thursday)

Practice cutting with children shapes and give children pre cut out shapes to make a transportation themed collage.

 

Materials:

 

Scissors

Construction Paper

Glue

 

● Goal P-ATL 8. Child holds information in mind and manipulates it to perform tasks.

 

● Goal P-PMP 1. Child demonstrates control, strength, and coordination of large muscles.


Hide-And-Seek Transportation *Seesaw* (Friday)
Check Seesaw for instructions

  • Match, point to, and begin to identify basic shapes by name.
    • Classify/sort objects into given categories (air transportation, land transportation, water transportation.)

Tire Tracks in Paint (Monday & Tuesday)

Children dip the tires of toy cars in paint and roll it across their paper to make tire tracks. Oriental Trading also has some car stamps that can be used for this activity.

 

● Goal P-ATL 8. Child holds information in mind and manipulates it to perform tasks.

 

● Goal P-PMP 1. Child demonstrates control, strength, and coordination of large muscles.


Craft Stick Airplanes (Wednesday & Thursday)

Children use craft sticks and colored masking tape to create airplanes.

 

● Goal P-ATL 8. Child holds information in mind and manipulates it to perform tasks.

 

● Goal P-PMP 1. Child demonstrates control, strength, and coordination of large muscles.


Materials: Craft sticks/Popsicle Sticks and Tissue Paper or any type of decoration you want to add.


Trin Scissor Skills (Friday)

Children pretend the scissors are a train, cutting along the railroad tracks (straight, curved & jagged lines). They stop when they come to the sticker.

Materials: Scissors and Paper. Writing tool to make lines.
