Igloo Marshmallow Craft


Materials:

 

Marshmallows
Paper Cup

Paper Plate

Glue

 

● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles.


Ice Cube Painting



Materials

  • Ice Tray
  • Food Coloring
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Paper

 

Children will investigate painting with ice cubes. They will explore what happens to ice when it melts. Children will use the ice cubes to create patterns and free paint their own illustrations on paper.

 

● Goal P-SCI 1. Child observes and describes observable phenomena (objects, materials, organisms, and events).

 

● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles.

 

Preschoolers exhibit complex fine motor coordination when using tools to complete tasks

Ice Cream in a Bag



Children will investigate how ice cream is made using some basic science and cooking skills.

 

Materials

  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Small Ziplock Bag
  • Large Ziplock Bag
  • Ice Cubes
  • Rock Salt
  • Vanilla
  • Sugar
    Cream

 

 

Directions

 

(Pour into Small Ziplock)

  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Cream


(Pour into Big Ziplock)

  • 4 Cups of Ice
  • 1/2 Cup of Salt

 

Place small bag into big bag when all ingredients have been added and seal them up. Shake for 5-10 min.

 

● Goal P-SCI 1. Child observes and describes observable phenomena (objects, materials, organisms, and events).

 

● Goal P-SCI 2. Child engages in scientific talk.

 

● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles.
