This weeks focus is "How Things Change"
Children will practice writing the letters of their name.
Materials:
● Goal P-LIT 6. Child writes for a variety of purposes using increasingly sophisticated marks
● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles.
Children will observe ice and predict what will happen to it when we leave it in a warm climate. Encourage children to share predictions by asking questions.
Later, we will put the liquid into a freezer and ask children to predict again what will happen to the ice that melted when we refreeze it?
Ask children to share results and ask children if our predictions were correct or if something different happened.
● Goal P-SCI 1. Child observes and describes observable phenomena (objects, materials, organisms, and events)
● Goal P-SCI 4. Child asks a question, gathers information, and makes predictions
● Goal P-SCI 6. Child analyzes results, draws conclusions, and communicates results

Children will be mixing ingredients together to make cloud dough.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup lotion regular lotion or baby lotion
- 1 cup cornstarch also called cornflour
Instructions 1. Add 1/2 cup of lotion to a bowl. Add 1-2 drops of the food coloring (if using concentrated gel, if using regular food coloring you'll need more drops to color) and mix.
2. Mix the lotion and food coloring until combined.
3. Add 1 cup of cornstarch and mix.
4. Mix until combined
5. Then take out the dough and place on some wax paper. Knead with your hands (you may want gloves here so your hands don't stain). Keep kneading until it forms a dough-like consistency. If it's still too sticky add another tablespoon of cornstarch.
Once your cloud dough is finished, use cookie cutters and rolling pins to play with it!
To store: simply put the playdough in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container to help it last longer. If the dough dries out, add a few extra squirts of lotion to it and knead back in.
● Goal P-SCI 1. Child observes and describes observable phenomena (objects, materials, organisms, and events)
"Lemonade" (Friday)
Children will observe physical changes as we cut the lemons and use the ingredients to make a refreshing drink (lemonade).
Ingredients:
Fresh Lemons
Sugar
Room Temperature Water
Ice
Directions:
Firmly roll lemons

Squeeze lemon juice into bowl and remove excess seeds from the juice
Pour lemon juice into pitcher

Stir
Add a lemon slice in pitcher for flavor (optional)

Serve and dirnk!
● Goal P-SCI 1. Child observes and describes observable phenomena (objects, materials, organisms, and events)
