Activities for virtual students at home

Raining Cotton Balls (Monday & Tuesday)

Children will emulate rain by pouring water onto cotton balls which will act like as our absorbent/cloud. Children will observe the drops fall from the cotton into another cup.

Materials:

 

Cotton balls, water, 2 plastic cups, paper clip, blue dye (optional).

 

● Goal P-SCI 5. Child plans and conducts investigations and experiments


"Cloud Shapes" (Wednesday)

Children will identify shapes and use left over cotton to turn them into cloud shapes.

 

Materials:

 

Cotton

Glue

Shapes Printable (See E-Mail) or draw shapes on paper yourself

 

● Goal P-MATH 9. Child identifies, describes, compares, and composes shapes.

 

● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles

"Paper Plate Sun Crafts" (Thursday & Friday)


Paper Plate Sun (Part 1)

 

Chillren will paint a sun using yellow paint and add lines and details using markers to make a face.

 

Materials:

 

Paper Plate

Yellow Paint

Paint Brush

 

● Goal P-PMP 3. Child demonstrates increasing control, strength, and coordination of small muscles


Paper Plate Sun (Part 2)

 

After yellow paint has dried, encourage children to add lines and details using markers to make a face and add some rays using construction paper and cutting them into triangle shapes.

 

Materials:


Markers

Orange/Yellow Construction Paper

Glue
